Who we are

This website is operated by Kangsol (referred to as "Kangsol", "we", "us" or "our"), an Australian business. Our Australian Business Number is ABN 81 681 855 354.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, how we handle it, and the choices available to you.

If you have any questions about this policy or about how we handle your personal information, contact us at privacy@kangsol.com.au.

What personal information we collect and how

We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our activities. The information we collect through this website includes:

  • Information you submit through our forms. When you use our contact form, penetration-testing scoping form, or readiness scorecard, we collect the details you provide, which may include your name, email address, company or website, your message, and your answers to scorecard questions. These submissions are delivered to us by email through the form-delivery service formsubmit.co and are sent to hello@kangsol.com.au.
  • Booking information. When you book a call through our embedded scheduling tool (Cal.com), you provide details such as your name, email address and scheduling preferences so we can arrange and hold the call.
  • Usage and analytics data. When you visit the site we collect standard analytics data through Google Analytics 4, such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser information, and identifiers stored in cookies or similar technologies.
  • Technical and log data. Our hosting and content-delivery provider (Cloudflare) automatically processes technical information such as your IP address and request logs to serve and secure the site.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive information through this website, and we ask that you do not send us sensitive information through our forms.

Why we collect and use your information

We collect, hold and use personal information for purposes including to:

  • respond to your enquiries and requests, and arrange and conduct calls;
  • provide the readiness scorecard result and any follow-up information you request;
  • scope, discuss and deliver our services;
  • operate, secure, maintain and improve this website; and
  • meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.

Australian privacy law does not use the concept of "legal basis" in the same way as some overseas regimes. We handle your information consistently with the APPs: we collect it for the purposes described above, and we generally only use or disclose it for those purposes or for a directly related purpose you would reasonably expect, unless you consent to another use or the law permits or requires it.

Third parties who process your information

We use a small number of reputable third-party service providers to run this website and communicate with you. These providers process personal information on our behalf or as part of delivering their service:

  • Google Analytics (Google) - website analytics.
  • Cal.com - scheduling and bookings.
  • Cloudflare - website hosting, content delivery and security.
  • Zoho Mail (Zoho) - our email service.
  • formsubmit.co - delivery of website form submissions to our email.

Some of these providers, or their infrastructure, are located outside Australia, and your personal information may be stored or processed overseas (for example in the United States or other countries). Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to handle your information in line with the APPs.

Cookies and analytics

This website uses cookies and similar technologies, including through Google Analytics 4, to understand how the site is used and to improve it. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. You can also opt out of Google Analytics across websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Disabling cookies may affect how parts of the site function.

How we store and retain information

We retain personal information only for as long as is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law, after which we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it. Retention periods vary depending on the type of information and the reason we hold it.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference and loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights under the Australian Privacy Principles

Subject to the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and other applicable laws, you may:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correct personal information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading; and
  • Complain if you believe we have breached the APPs.

To make a request, email us at privacy@kangsol.com.au. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. There is generally no charge to make a request, though we may charge a reasonable cost for giving access to information in some cases.

How to make a complaint

If you have a privacy concern or complaint, please contact us first at privacy@kangsol.com.au so we can try to resolve it. We will acknowledge your complaint and respond within a reasonable time.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), the national privacy regulator, at www.oaic.gov.au.
